[edit] Joining

When you join the Wizard's guild, start by investing xp points in other heath and magic. When you get to 5 or 10 magic think about Fighting skills and covert skills. When these skills, (magic, covert, fighting ) are all 5 think about what order to join or what spells you want to use. Narquin's Mist of Doom is a good starter after Malich's Penetrating Occular Lance, but after that aim for Kamikaze Oryctolagus Flammula. Sorklin's Field of Protection for defense will be ok untill you get to join a guild, then think about Chrenedict's Calcareous Covering or the spell that uses ash Transcendent Pneumatic Alleviator.

Once your level gets to thirty start to think about which order to join. Ask players from the orders what they are like and pick one you like ONCE YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT SKILLS! Dont charge into an order , put it off as for as long as possible. especially if it's a player killer only order, prepare properly.

If you're not sure you have the skill to cast a spell, don't. Spellcheck (fully) it and work on those areas.

If you get to scribe spells, scribe all the ones you know and store them in a vault. if you die, you know where they are. Collect as much money and put it in a bank. Always consider something before you attack it and avoid trolls or gnolls if possible. I don't advance until I have 100K XP points minimum.

Well, You've reached the message in the student's lounge that says 'you must pick an order'.

Everyone picks Circle because they think NES (Nargl'frob's Empyrean Spear) is cool. But hold on a minute. In the future every order will have a spell which they can use. In fact in the future joining an order may be something that you do (refer Devon) as you become a wizard. Don't join an order based upon what they can do now, but on what they could do in the future! Research all the orders. Once you've joined an order you'll find that you have various primaries. Now it's a balance game. You will either charge up the primaries (which get expensive in terms of xp and money above 100 levels) or concentrate on the all round skills. Before you join an order I recommend putting xp into other life so you have 1.5 k hp and then making your character as rounded as possible. However, this is still possible once you've joined an order. At around 100 days (or before) you'll get towards guild maxing your skills. Don't forget to put xp into other areas, be it for quest of fun purposes. However even if you put 12 million xp's into cr.mi.mi you wont ruin your character (but you'll find looking for purple mineral powder in blue moon park in bp unbelievably easy!). You'll think you are a tough wizard at 10, 20 and 30 days. You aint. Even at 100 days it possible to die. I've even seen Sekiri's ghost. Believe it. Don't do anything you aren't 100% sure of. Or if you do, good luck, and dont say I didn't warn you!

Don't forget to learn non magic commands from other players, or be afraid of asking.(nicely) magic commands are in the main learned from npc's. Refer dantheman gives some covert ideas, but at the levels quoted you won't be able to any of them except 'peek'
